LAYING

It is recommended that the paving blocks and slabs should be hosed down, before sealing the joints. The paving blocks or slabs should be set into the bedding mortar, allowing for joints of 1 to 1,5 cm in order to obtain a rustic finish. The joints should be sealed with jointing mortar (semi-liquid).

Once the mixture has set, hose down the paving, keeping the pressure constant, or wipe clean with a sponge.
Remaining traces of mortar can be removed from the paving by

rubbing the surface with a dry mixture of cement and sand.
It is important to protect the paving stones (with a protective film) when retarded concrete is being used nearby. Do not clean with acid. Following these guidelines will enable the paving to look its best and your construction projects to be successful. Road traffic should not be allowed to use the freshly-laid paving during a 3-week period.

These recommendations are given as a rough guide.
